A store shaped around the buying decision
A tent, portable fridge or vehicle accessory is rarely chosen on appearance alone. Customers need to understand capacity, packed dimensions, power requirements or compatibility before they can decide. Your store should make that detail easy to find and compare.
We start with your range, customer questions and operational constraints. The outcome is an agreed structure for collections, product information and core templates, with a clear distinction between what belongs in the theme, product data and any supporting apps.
What a Shopify build can include
Every proposal names the templates, catalogue size, markets, integrations and content responsibilities. Brand identity, photography, extensive copywriting, platform fees and paid apps are separately scoped. Custom checkout requirements are assessed against the capabilities of your Shopify plan.
- Discovery and information architecture: collections, menus and the route from an activity or requirement into the right products.
- Responsive design and development for agreed homepage, collection, product, content and basket templates.
- Product data planning: consistent specifications, variants, comparison information and useful filtering attributes.
- A defined catalogue import and agreed integrations for stock, fulfilment, reviews or other business needs.
- Technical SEO foundations, redirects where URLs change, responsive testing and a practical handover.
Moving from Magento or another platform
Migration starts with an inventory: products and variants, customers, orders, content, URLs and business integrations. We identify what needs to move, what needs cleaning up and what cannot be carried across unchanged before quoting the work.
Existing URLs should be mapped to relevant destinations, rather than all redirected to the homepage. Test imports, stock synchronisation, payment flows and fulfilment handoffs need an agreed launch plan. Search rankings cannot be guaranteed through a migration; careful mapping and post-launch checks help identify problems early.
A platform move is not always the right answer. If Magento meets your operational needs, a scoped improvement to the current store may be more appropriate. We assess that choice with you.
A clear route from discovery to handover
A typical scoped build takes six to ten weeks after content, access and requirements are ready. Complex integrations, international selling and catalogue cleanup can change that schedule. We agree review points and acceptance criteria before work starts.
You work directly with Will. At handover, the aim is that your team understands how to manage the store and which responsibilities sit with the platform, your apps and Drift North. Continuing improvement is available through an agreed monthly allocation.
What to send for a useful estimate
We use this to propose a suitable discovery or delivery scope. You do not need a finished technical specification to start a conversation.
- Your current store URL, or a short description of a new brand.
- Approximate product and variant counts, markets and currencies.
- The systems that need to connect to the store.
- The main customer or operational problem and any fixed launch date.
Questions before we start
Do we need a fully custom theme?
Not always. A suitable theme with considered customisation may meet the brief. The choice depends on the required templates, buying journeys, maintenance needs and budget.
Can you guarantee more sales after a rebuild?
No. Traffic quality, pricing, product demand and operations all affect sales. We agree useful measures and test the delivered journeys, without promising a revenue or conversion increase.
Let’s make the next step clear.
Tell us about your products, your current store and what needs to work better. We’ll discuss a suitable scope before you commit to paid work.
