For the work that continues after launch
A launch does not finish a store. New ranges need different specifications, customer questions reveal missing information and merchandising teams find tasks that take too long. An ongoing arrangement creates space for those changes without turning each small improvement into a new website project.
This suits an outdoor brand with an existing Shopify store, a person who can approve priorities and a manageable backlog. If the store has substantial undocumented custom work, we begin by reviewing the theme and the relevant dependencies. An inherited store needs an understood starting point before we agree an ongoing allocation.
A backlog tied to specific store tasks
Each task should describe the problem, affected pages and the expected result. “Improve the product page” is hard to estimate. “Show packed dimensions beside the size selector across the tent range” gives us something concrete to design, implement and test.
We separate essential repairs, planned enhancements and larger discovery questions. A new fulfilment integration may need its own scope; a specification layout or a navigation adjustment can often be considered within the agreed allocation. The monthly plan makes that distinction visible before work begins.
- Product and collection template refinements.
- Seasonal landing pages and navigation updates.
- Theme changes to support new catalogue information.
- Investigation of reported mobile or app-related issues.
- Review of completed changes and the next useful priorities.
Controlled changes and a usable handover
We agree the intended behaviour and the pages to check before editing. Where the platform allows it, theme work is reviewed in a preview before release. Representative products, variants, app interactions and the route to basket are checked against the task’s acceptance criteria.
A finished task includes a short explanation of what changed, how it was checked and anything your team needs to maintain. If an experiment needs measurement, we agree the event or customer task in advance. Completing development and proving a sales effect are different outcomes.
Capacity and response expectations are explicit
The arrangement defines the monthly allocation, communication route, review cadence and how unused capacity or work beyond the allocation is handled. Response times and release windows are agreed around the work and available capacity. This is not an unlimited development or 24-hour emergency service.
Platform fees and third-party app subscriptions remain separate. Security incidents, major migrations and substantial integrations need an appropriate response or dedicated scope. If your immediate need is one contained change, a focused improvement may be a better fit than an ongoing commitment.
Questions before we start
Can you support a store you did not build?
Potentially. We first review the relevant theme, apps and customisations, then agree an initial scope and access.
Do we need a monthly arrangement?
No. A single issue can be scoped as a focused improvement. Ongoing support is useful when you have a continuing flow of agreed work.
Let’s make the next step clear.
Tell us about your products, your current store and what needs to work better. We’ll discuss a suitable scope before you commit to paid work.
